AMD-Action:authenticate:SP error while trying to download macOS Sierra

I know, this is a Free-Software blog…but, I mean, troubles with computers are stuff of this blog as well. So, this is what I’m talking about today: AMD-Action:authenticate:SP error while trying to download macOS Sierra.

AMD-Action:authenticate:SP error while trying to download macOS Sierra

mac OS Sierra is the new Apple Operating System. I don’t really want to dig into the new features implemented by Apple developers…too many blogs are focused on that. I want to talk about the problem I got trying to download it from Apple Store, reported on the blog title.

Just clicking on the download tab on the proper page of the Apple Store, I got the error

Immediately, I thought about the charger: my mac wasn’t connect to the eletric power. But the connection to my charger didn’t solve the problem. Trying again I got the same error. “I see!!!”…few weeks ago I modified permissions and owners of some folders because…well OS X is too permissive: connected to LAN of the faculty I was able to see…TOO MUCH!:D:D:D

Yes, it is due to my anxiousness of protect my computers and my personal data. Anyway, just changing owner and permissions of the Users/Shared/ directory and everything worked fine. Following the cli commands:

~ cd /Users/
~ sudo chown <username>:staff Shared/
~ sudo chmod 770 Shared/

#gwh and happy hacking!
